The Gorges du Verdon is a canyon along the Verdon river and is located about two hours from where we are staying in Valbonne. We decided to make the drive north when friends were visiting as it's one of the sights to see in the region and they have a lot of activities available. I am so glad we took the trip.
We weren't entirely sure where to go at first but after a bit of research, we navigated to the Galetas Bridge which gives you a beautiful view of the canyon side of the river and the lake side. After some pics, we decided to speak to one of the paddle boat operators and to our surprise, they had a boat available and off we went!
The water was a gorgeous blue green and the canyon was full off interesting rock patterns and greenery. Hayden had mentioned at one point that a bucket list item for him was to "cliff jump". So this checked off that wish for him - even thought it scared the hell out of me.
Of course, Harper wanted to follow suit.
We paddled around taking in the beautiful natural landscape around us, the kids swam, we ate the sandwiches we made and brought with us, and just enjoyed what the south of France has to offer. Some of my favorite pics below!
